MoaAlm Mountain Retreat is situated within one of the most beautiful and remote areas of East Tirol, Austria. We are excited to share this stunning region with you, taking you on either guided hikes or accompanied walks within the surrounding Alpine area. We also offer daily Yoga to balance the walking complimenting the benefits of the fresh mountain air. If you enjoy being close to nature, meeting like minded people, escaping the crowds, trying plant based meals and staying in a remote and stunning location, then this summer holiday is for you!
We offer guided or accompanied hikes and walks on five days of your holiday: the hikes can take from four to seven hours, including comfortable breaks. We may conquer up to 1000 vertical meters or we may not, it’s up to you! If you have a basic fitness level (doing cardio or endurance sports at least one hour a week) and with no serious knee injuries you will be able to join us on these hikes. We will start the week with easier hikes to warm-up and build from there. All hikes and walks are optional. You are welcome to go on self-guided walks, we will supply maps and routes, or take extra relaxing days at our base at MoaAlm with a good book on the sunny south facing terrace with views of the mountains. For those interested in yoga, our certified yoga teacher offers a morning yoga class on 5 days of the week. Classes generally last 1 hour and you are very welcome to join whether you have never done yoga before or you are a regular practitioner. Classes are always tailored to individual needs. We offer a variety of Hatha, Vinyasa and restorative Yin classes. Our yoga teacher occasionally offers a Restorative or Yin yoga session in the afternoon or a guided meditation on request. In our fully equipped in-house yoga studio with a panoramic view of the mountains, we have yoga mats and props. As a guest you only need to bring some comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely while stretching. Whenever the weather allows we take our yoga practice outside to breathe in the fresh mountain air!

We understand that every guest and every day is different. What sets our holiday apart from the usual mountain holiday, is that we can find that perfect daily adventure for every member of the group. The benefit of small groups, is that we can adapt, discuss, and personalise each day.
Meeting new people and making new friends, whether you are a single traveller, in couple, or part of a group, while being in a remote Alpine location is what we love at MoaAlm. We just want everyone to admire the mountains as much as we do!
Yoga with a view to remember before breakfast, a guided hike starting from MoaAlm’s back door into the famous, Hohe Tauren Dorfer valley. Our guide would like the chance to share their knowledge of the area and hopefully we will see Eagles and Vultures. Return to MoaAlm where post activity ‘Tea & Cake’ awaits. A pre diner muscle soak in the hot tub, as the evening light dances on the surrounding peaks. Time for a super tasty & nutritious plant based 3 course evening meal where we talk about our days adventure.
If you like a little bit extra adventure we can organise additional activities such as mountain biking, rafting, paragliding or rock climbing (these are not included in the price). Another option is to take a day trip to the picturesque town of Lienz 30km from MoaAlm to browse the market and shops or to taste the local wines. If you like to focus more on the relaxing part of your holiday, you might want to book a massage at the nearby hotel or relax on our sunny south facing terrace.
