How movement, nature and daily rituals create a week of deeper awareness.
How often do you truly notice where you are? On a hike, we often focus on the summit. We push forward, we achieve, we arrive. And yes, the view from the top is unforgettable. But what about everything along the way? The rhythm of your breath. The sound of the birds. The tiny alpine flowers at your feet. The feeling of your body moving steadily uphill. In a world that moves fast and demands constant attention, the ability to pause has become essential. MoaAlm Mountain Retreat in Kals am Großglockner offers exactly that space: a structured yet relaxed week to reconnect with yourself through yoga, guided mountain walks, and a mindful atmosphere that flows through everything—from fresh vegan food to the calm energy of the house.

The mountains naturally invite presence. Research in environmental psychology shows that time in nature reduces stress, lowers mental fatigue, and restores cognitive clarity. Add gentle altitude, fresh alpine air, and expansive views, and you have ideal conditions for mindfulness practice.
This summer, we are dedicating a specialist week to this topic. Together with Frauke Schroth, yoga teacher and expert in stress management, we have designed a Mindfulness, Walking & Yoga Holiday, taking place from 13-20 June 2026.
This week is not about “doing more”. It is about experiencing more. You will return home not only refreshed, but with:
No prior meditation or mindfulness experience is required. This week is open to everyone who feels drawn to mountains, movement, and meaningful pause.

Each day at MoaAlm begins with a mindful dynamic yoga session. These morning classes gently awaken the body and prepare you for the mountains. Through conscious movement, breath awareness, and focused attention, yoga becomes more than physical exercise.
Mindful dynamic yoga can:
It is not about performance, it is about presence. An open, balanced body and mind create the perfect foundation for mindful walking.

After yoga and a healthy breakfast, we step into the mountains around Großglockner. Our certified hiking guides lead walks that are less about speed or distance and more about immersing ourselves in nature. During your Mindfulness, Walking & Yoga Holiday you will explore alpine meadows, quiet forest paths, and panoramic viewpoints, always with time to pause, breathe, and notice the beauty of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
When walking mindfully in nature:
The vastness of the mountains reminds us what truly matters. Their stillness encourages our own.

As part of our specialist week, Frauke introduces practical and accessible mindfulness techniques during three dedicated workshops.
You will learn how to:
The mountains support this learning naturally. The rhythm of walking, the silence, and simplicity of being outdoors deepen understanding. Nature supports mindfulness. Mindfulness deepens your experience of nature—and life.
Yoga, walking, workshops, nourishing food, rest.
Each element strengthens the others:
The rhythm of movement, mindful learning, shared meals, and quiet moments creates a specialist week that is both active and calm, energising and deeply restorative.
